Easton Road - Head Office

You can see the Adventure Sports sign in the window of the Finance Office, along with the Lamont Tents signing. (Adventure Sports was the tent manufacturing arm of the company.)

Casey's were sole importers to the UK of the Lamont brand of tents made in France.

This was the nerve centre with all the Head Office administrative staff needed to run a well oiled mail order business as well as the retail outlets across the country as well co-ordinating outdoor exhibitions at various showgrounds.

There was warehousing on all three floors and a basement. A packing and despatch room, finance as well as offices for the directors of the company.

It was from here that mass mailings were made to members of the Casey's Camping Club and equipment catalogues sent to customers.

Tents and heavy items would be shipped using BRS and if customers paid extra items would be sent using Red Star train delivery service.

Bulk purchasing was key to the success of the mail order business - Tents from Lamont in France were very high quality and innovative for their day.

Sundry items of equipment were purchased in volume such as tent pegs, rubbers, D-Rings etc, etc. as can be seen in the extensive catalogue pages. These were packed by the packing department into plastic bags which were created from various sized rolls of cellophane and heat sealing machine. topped off with an orange or blue cardboard display label with all the items coded for the mail order business and retail shops to hang on peg boards for display.

In 1970 Casey's also had locations outside of Bristol in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Cardiff.
